Abstract:
The hydrolysis of particular
organic solids, which is often the rate-limiting step of anaerobic digestion,
can be supported by comminution of the material, creating new surfaces and
releasing cell compounds in the suspension. An accelerated digestion of all
solids and an extended degradation of substrates with a high fibre content
could be observed.

anaerobic digestion, comminution, organic waste
